I'm really looking forward to this. Quite apart from the fact it uses a buncha my code, a really good mod spanning from Byzantium to England is sorely lacking in M&B IMO.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

I can't agree more with  Jubal. I've been searching forever for a mod that would portrait with minimum accuracy the Reconquista period of European Medieval History but I could only find Iberia and Europe 1200 who despite being a reasonable effort are fall from being what I was looking for. This one, for what I have seen truly promises alot so my expectations are high :)

Just a point I forgot to make in my previous post in General Discution, There was no Spain in the Iberic Peninsula in 1080! In 1080 the Iberic Peninsula was compose by the Christian Realms of Aragon, Navarre, Galicia, Le

Look, I really don't want to press this subject much further. I wouldn't post the previous mail if I wasn't fairly sure of what I was saying( the lack of reliable historical sources make this history period complicated to study). Galicia belonged to the Kingdom of Leon but maintained a high degreed of independance until the catholic Kings in the XV century, being completely extint only in 1833. The Kingdom of Leon and the Kingdom of Castille where joined as allies under one ruler (King Alfonso VI of Le

Check the download links for the 0.1 version -if you had not done so-

I believe your opinions are 100% good. Seams you are right in many issues. I can surely not make 2 Kingdoms '' Leon - Castille'' , because -I believe- it's not possible for one ruler to rule over 2 factions. I hope I will be able to have Navare -or Pamplona, as you mentioned, since around 840 (?) till the period I believe it was called Kingdom of Pamplona... -

Galicia, was ''intepentent'' similar to the moders means of the term. I mean, like the Principality of Asturias, the Bascan country, or the modern-day German regions of Bavaria, Saxony ... ect . I mean in the reality they are -and Galicia was, after the defeat of Garcia by Afonso and Sancho- completely under the rule of a Greater country.

About the ''Imperator Toitus Hispaniae'' ... Afonso, claimed such a title, and since he is listed among the spanish rulers / monarchs , I believe we can call his country ''Spain'' . But if Navare / Pamplona is about to be added, then, it should definately be ''Castille and Leon'' and Navare -or Pamplona- respectfully ...

Your points were 100% reasonable. I accept them as good-purpose critics, and I am not offended at all. Keep posting!

It would be nice to start a thread about historical sources, or I will start one in the future...  :ball:

You are right. The Mod base is hard to alter. I've been thinking about it and I don't think there is anything you could do different. About the use of the name Spain I still think you should use the correct name at the time, instead of Kingdom of Spain you should use Kingdom of Leon and Castille.

Let's just wait and see if the expansion allows more reallism to the game :-)

So, good news... Spain will have 2 different factions, as it would have been in the reallity of that age!

From the 14 factions of the 0,1 Beta, we will hopefully get 22 factions in the version 0,2!

Any ideas about the new factions are accepted... 8 new factions, that is!

I am thinking of adding:
High Kingom of Ireland
Navarre (Kingdom of Pamplona untill 1090 AD)
Cuman Khanate
Russian Principality of Kiev
Russian Republic of Novgorod
Serbian Kingdom of Dioclea (Duklija)
Fatimid Sultanate of Egypt

and another faction...
Possibly
- ''Baltic Tribes of Lithuania'' (Lithuania seamed to have tribal organization at the time, and sources seam about hard to be found... )

- Kingdom of Little Armenia ( also called Kingdom of Cilicia) (Rebelled and broke free from Byzantine Rule in 1080. Unlike Bulgaria, whoose rebellion was stopped early in 1081, the kinom of cilicia kept livinng until 1231, after the mameluks of Egypt destroyed it)

- Hallych-Vollynian Principate (if it existed)

- Any Moor style faction based on Algiers of Tunis (if it existed)

- Croatia (fallen in 1089, or 1095 if I'm correct)

- Other Russian Pricedoms (Bulgar, ... , ...)

- Many other factions that are so tiny to be added

- Croatia (fallen in 1089, or 1095 if I'm correct)
Croatia was still an independent kingdom in 1080, ruled by king Dmitar Zvonimir.

The last Croatian king was Petar Svačić (Svacic)... He died in the battle of Mount Gvozd in 1097...
Hungarian king Coloman became the king of Croatia in 1102.

More information about Croatian history

Also I could help you with some models if you want... That's the least I can do for my country  :D

Edit :
Some maps

King Tomislav's (925. - at least 928.) army

Croatian warrior (from king Tomislav's time)

Crowning of king Dmitar Zvonimir in Solin (Unfortunately one sticker is missing)
and don't mind that dwarf on the left ... He is the story teller
As you can see the equipment is almost the same as one from Tomislav's time
(You can see nobles on the right and common folk and warriors on the left)

EDIT : this is the last one ! I promise !  :D

Oton Ivekovic : Crowning of king Tomislav (The first Croatian king)

Sorry for being off for a while. My grandfather died on Monday. I hope Jubal will fix the problem with the town placement ability. As I was presuming, that happened due to the incobatibility of map editor and Module system.

About Croatia:
There is a Strong possibility it might be included, since Russians will have only Kievan Principality, since both Novgorod and Hallych-Vollynia were established some year between 1190 and 1220 AD. Also the Kievan Principality from 1050 to 1100 -1100 was at it's bigger extent, including most of European Russia... Also some othe pricedoms existed such as Volga-Bulgar ... Hope I can include as many factions as possible...

Thanks for the interest so far...

I've found a few pictures of Croat warriors and some pictures show similarity with Polish warriors ...
Although these warriors are from 13. century it's still quite interesting ...
For example :

Quote
Croatian light cavalryman, dismounted
During the crusades to eastern europe* the knights fought together with many local armies. One of these allies were the Croatian families and this figure represents such a warrior. He is fully armoured and stands and awaits his orders.
* actually Croatia is in Central Europe ( Wikipedia )

Croatian Cavalryman 13th Cent

A catalogue of Croatian Nobles [in a document of the age called Baska Tablet]:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ba%C5%A1ka_tablet

Is that accurate? -it seams so-
