Excellent writing! The really good thing about this is that it has a lot of drama but wraps itself up very fast; my own problem when writing short stories is that when I increase the drama the story gets miles too long; yours still manages to be short and is powerfully written as well.  :)
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Thank you. It has quite a bit of drama in it but I like the way I ended it (even though it was a heart breaking).  :)
