I like it, but I would say for the sake of gameplay that it needs to at least be possible to get to the walls with enough men to take the castle, else it would be now fun to assault.

Most castles, however devilish, are takeable though, almost purely by virtue of the fact that you're human and they're the AI.

Well, I think Jubal is probably right that it will be possible simply because we are human and they are AI. However I will be sure to test the battle and make sure it is not to difficult.

It is still a ways from completion, so far there is no AI mesh and the area to the right of the gate is not player friendly, there are odd invisible walls that I am fighting to get rid of.

Other than that I am just trying to "pretty it up"

Also, if it is to hard to get through the gates that is easy to fix. Just move the spawn point closer. :)

No, it's the command system - you need to get a companion with tactics 2 or higher, get them to create a new battle command (talk to them from party menu), then add troops to that via the camp menu. You can then use the keypad to select different battle command groups in battle and put them into different formations.
