Lucid Dreaming.
« on: March 16, 2010, 08:38:06 PM »
I have decided to teach myself how to lucid dream on demand :)

If anyone is unsure as to what this is Wiki has a great book about it, and it really is quite fascinating and a good read even if you dont plan on doing this.

Here it is :D

Everyone should try this if you can, its absolutely amazing (I do this naturally too, something like 1% of people do) its like literally having your own controllable dream world :D

Anyways onto the point of this thread, I thought it could be like a blog, if you will. Where we can all post our progress if anyone would like to join me, any dreams we have had and can share post here, and to see if anyone does achieve the goal of being lucid on demand! ( They sometimes make nice little stories ^^ ) :D

I reckon I can do this the odd time

like last night in my dream  i awoke from my bed and started to walk downstairs to find a gigantic tarantula bocking my path
running back into my bedroom I discover a rather nice longsword on my chair   :knight: (This was the lucid part i think)
taking the sword I hacked the spider to pieces (which was somewhat pleasing)
then I left my house and went into my garden to find it was now the school field with many gigantic spiders crawling around
so fun times for the rest of the dream :D

the weird thing is  im not even scared of spiders

Sounds like an awesome dream ^^  They are always so completely and utterly detached from reality... Tonight's dream coming tomorrow from me :D

Would tell the other 3 from last night, but they are all rather un-eventful...

I'm sure that I've experienced this several times, another similar thing I've experienced a couple times is sleep paralysis. This is when your mind wakes up before your body and you freak out because you can't move anything. Whats really weird is you get the feeling there is something evil in the room with you, and its been theorized that many alien 'abductions' have been cases of sleep paralysis.

My dreams are utterly portugaled up ... First of all I'm constantly being chased by someone or something in my dreams. And sometimes events and people get completely mixed up and unstable. For example : I'm having a conversation with a person and then the next moment that same person turns into somebody else...
Conclusion : I'm a total nutcase.

Ahh sleep paralysis is horrible to have, it really is scary.

Its a side effect of Lucid dreaming I think too.

And SW, are all dreams not messed up?

Were you ever chased by a group of junkies in your dream?

I've been chased by many things in dreams, including people with chainsaws and even once my brother was some sort of zombie. Plus it usually feels like I'm waist deep in syrup so my legs won't move fast enough to run or pedal a bike and if I have a gun I have trouble pulling the trigger but if I manage to I usually miss...so you're not alone.  ;)

I remember this one dream that I remember most vividly (I had it 5 nights in a row at most o_O) where I had just begun watching Harry Potter. You know how the 3rd movie has the dementor people? I would watch that some nights, then the dream would sort of be a chase game where I tried to hide from the Dementor and it always found me. This one time, it changed into a nazgul form lord of the rings, which is odd o_O
Keep posting these wierd/freaky/funny dream thing-a-ma-bobs :D

**Edit**
I remembered that whenever It found me, I would some how force myself to wake up, and i would turn on all the lights in my house xD. I think the waking up thing was like a fear response or something. Contact me if you find anything out :P

I tend to have total control over myself, no control over events around me. Which makes them kinda fun until I die, it's like a worryingly realistic videogame. :P

Yeah, I had a very strange dream last night actually. It might of been 2 dreams, but they link up perfectly so I am just gunna post as one, they were also EXTREMELY vivid, some parts were Lucid (Actually the whole 2nd part was) :)
(And when you wake up Lordryan, this is due to your body realising that you are dreaming, and forcing its self to activity. A defence mechanism if you want to call it that)

THE DREAM

I was on some sort if jungle planet, more like a forest actually with a bunch of people I didn't know, including a blind old man. We were building some sort of natural camp for research on god knows what and the old man was making a log cabin, but he didn't realise he was making it out of rolled up green towels not logs. Kinda weird as you would think he could feel they were not logs...
Anyway. I left him to get on with it, and I noticed there were LOADS of bugs, everywhere. Then a pink candle on a tree stump appeared, and I saw it kept the bugs away, so I went to the fence of the camp, and 4 alter type things just appeared, and I lit them all with the pink candle. Suddenly they all went out, and I couldn't re-light them, so I called over my friends (Some lumberjack men) who all had flame throwers (They were very weird contraptions, they looked like a bike handle bar, with a big wheel on the side. It was blue too.. You had to spin the wheel to make the flame bigger or smaller and then pull the trigger to make it work)

After we all lit them again with the flame throwers, the local species came by, they were peaceful enough and sort of looked like the aliens from District 13, but hardier and smoother looking. As quickly as they came, they went. Suddenly the military appeared out of no where and I was left standing there in the mist of some huge operation. (I assume they were taking over the planet, you will understand why in the next part) So, this part just ends with me standing there with the flame thrower.

Before I know it, I am sitting on a train. Like a cargo train, but filled with people strapped to seats, like the drop ships in avatar but a train. And we were back in England, but it was very dirty and smoke was everywhere. Then I noticed a few of them men were wounded and were in the military, and my friend sat next to me had a broken foot. There was also a woman there, and apparently I was brilliant friends with her. Didn't recognise her a single bit looking back.

So the woman went off, and we all gave her a hug goodbye. And off the train went. The man with the broken foot was very jolly I remember. Then the train was more like a London transport train, and I was looking out the windows to a platform we were going past (At this point, I realised I was dreaming and in the military)  and all my school friends were there, and we all waved to each other. They were being sold as slaves. one of them was waving a phone at me, an LG cookie in fact, he was shouting there is no signal, and he was right. I got my phone out and there was no signal.

Then we all had to get off the train and into some huge central plaza square thing in London, I said my goodbyes to the man with the broken foot and off he went in the train. Then I was in a battle scene. London was being taken over by the very Aliens that were in the first part.

As I was walking along, there were a few skirmishes with the Aliens in side streets but it seemed to be under control. They had no weapons and were actually killed by bullets, and the ones that surrendered were made to stand in a little square of fence, and wear yellow coats. Then everything suddenly changed as I got into a car, the Aliens were much more vicious and had weapons, god knows where from. Then I noticed the driver was the girl from the train before and I gave her a hug haha. Anyways we were driving, very fast, through this complete chaos, and a GIANT alien thingy came up infront of us, we tried to turn it into road kill, but it didnt work and we ended up crashing straight into its nail. Then it started to claw at the car and I managed to get out, and the girl, unfortunately died. The aliens were winning outright now, and all the men were fleeing down alleyways. So I followed a group of 4 of them, and we went down an alley way with a bridge going over the top. There was an alien on the bridge, and it saw it, it started to shoot at us, and I remember it suddenly went slow motion, and not a single bullet hit me. but I saw the 4 soldiers literally TORN apart by the bullets, and somehow the alien didnt see me. So I sneaked off in the shadow of the bridge and turned a corner.

Round this corner was a strange scene, 2 girls were sitting there, with a soldier talking. It was like a counselling session, and they were just finishing it. They were talking about clearing something up and getting the soldier home. As I went up to the 2 girls, he walked off and so did one of the girls to escort him. The one left behind started talking to me, and told me to walk with her. So I did, and we got into a lift somewhere made of glass. I could see all the destruction
the aliens made. Then she said, this isnt the first time we have met (I was lie WTF? I have never seen you) Then she explained she is a time traveller and I am super duper important for something. Then I started to eat some maltesers, and the dream ended.

Weird huh :D

My cousin had a dream about the ending of the world ... The first thing she saw was a blinding flash on the horizon... Then the clouds started to gather, everything went dark and the ashes fell from the sky... And that's when I had to go, so I didn't hear the rest of the story ... But it does sound interesting ...

I actually laughed out loud. Something about waving to your school friends while they are being sold as slaves strikes me as hilarious.

That was a nice story (someone has been watching too much television) *cough* no, TV is good.  B)

Well if it has been influenced by TV well bah xD And it made me laugh too :p maybe it was just the complete lack of emotion, ya know if people were being sold as slaves you would be kinda sad :p

This mornings recall didnt go so well, only a few details were clear such as:

I was in a city, with lots and lots and lots of high rise buildings.
I had a shotgun.
I was being chased by some living goop thing.
I eventually killed the living goop thing.

Thats about it.
