Britannia BC
« on: April 01, 2008, 10:49:57 PM »

Britannia BC is a mod for Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion. It covers the Iron Age period in Britain. The main campaign will begin in 270 BC, the late Iron Age and last until the Romans finally conquered Britain in 43 AD.

Britannia BC is not intended to be historically accurate in any way at all, and the main reason for its development is that I want to, and always have wanted to play as the British Tribes in RTW, and conquer all of Britain in the name of the Iceni. Slowly, this vision is becoming reality.

My thanks go to PrivateClark for helping me with models because of my expensive-software-phobia. Also, thanks to SrJamesTyrrel for his gift to this mod, the La Tene captain. More thanks to Andalus, for allowing me to use his Gallic Cavalry texture, and PC's model.

Factions

The following factions will be represented in this mod:
  • Iceni

  • Trinovates

  • Brigantes

  • Catuvellauni

  • Ordovices

  • Dumnonii

  • Cornovii

  • Silures

  • Belgae

  • Regini

  • Atrebates

  • Attacotti

  • Picti

  • Scoti

  • Gaels

  • Aedui

  • Independant Gallic Tribes

  • Germanic Tribes

  • Romans

  • Independant Cities (Rebels)
There is one faction slot free. Anyone got any ideas?

Map

The campaign map is intended to cover Britain, Ireland and North-West France. However, CaesarVincens was making the map for me, but I haven't heard from him in a long time so I don't know at the moment since I can't get it to work at all :-/ . Anyone here a mapper?

No, but I'd colour them bronzey/gold or darker iron coloured.

Iceni Swordsmen

Still need to fix the unaligned shield and the helmet colour properly though...

Also, can RTW models be edited in Gmax?

Looks pretty good, putting an insignia on your shields would look nice

Light Swordsmen

They will probably be recuitable to numerous factions, but this texture is for the Trinovantes.

PC, I'll email you the shield and the texture for this unit, can you please work your 3ds magic on them?

Hmm, the shoulder is sorta poking through the shield in one of them. Not very hard to fix id imagine, let me know if you want that changed  ;)                                                          .

Also, you should probably take the helmet texture i made and put it on those retextured saxon keel in the OP, their helmets are a bit flat white as well.
