It is a badge(r) of pride to pun in such esteemed company!
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Can you believe this thread is on it's 374th page? Acclimatise to that, if you can

(I hid jackal in there)

But the sentence doesn't have a jay, so I'm confused now.

EDIT: oh, it's the ge? Accl

Rats. I should've been clearer

You could have been hiding anything in there as far as I was concerned, for a moment: secret messages about cake, or parts of Hansard, or a subliminal farm ad. I'll own up to the fact that the farm ad was just there to conseal yet another animal pun, but who knows what else I could coat in seemingly innocuous messaging, as part of yet another winning message in this epoch, arduously shared in the Last Post thread?

That last post has left me humming, bird.

(bird is my new nickname for you)

(humming as in: thinking)

(the best puns & jokes need explaining)

There's four animals in there intentionally at least, if that helps :)

Just look it over with a cup of tea, gleaning new insights each time you look.

Tusky

I'll not bee doing that

Well, it's not something I can compel. I can however look at you disappointedly and sadly for not taking the time to work out my glorious hidden animal jokes.

Although one must choose carefully what to do with their lifespan, there are plenty of reasons to do such things.

Very well I will.

I wonder if we will hit some limited of permitted puns per annum. Batches of them are required afresh with every page of this thread!
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Tusky

Is there even a tool that can count puns?

You better not implement such a thing, or ill absolutely lose it

Jubal

I wouldn't want to rush into creating such a thing and have you think I was some kind of kook. A. Burr, a noted American politician and lawyer, once said that "Law is whatever is boldly asserted and plausibly maintained", and your bold assertion that I shouldn't do this has force according to such a maxim.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Tusky

That was pretty good

Thank you! I try and ensure that though my bad puns may cause a mental pain or scar, a calibre most high is nonetheless maintained whereby I try and make them suitably convoluted for the occasion.
