It was quite epic, in a dark and sadistic non-lotr-epic sort of way. I highly recommend it, because Malcolm McDowell is awesome.

Yeah, I've seen the .com, NA. It's been there longer than we have, and I'm still not wholly sure what the point of it is.  :P

Just played a game of AOEIII - on hard setting, British with 1 ally (Dutch) versus Spanish who also had a +100% resource gathering handicap.

The Dutch buckled insanely quickly, and sure enough soon the Spanish cavalry were stamping all over my base. I had a plan, however - shipped out my remining four villagers and explorer to an offshore island, took it over, and then proceeded to give the AI my best guerilla warfare masterclass. It was a stalemate for ages - I got all the offshore islands and a navy sufficiently powerful to demolish theirs and stop them building a port, they were fricken' unbeatable on land and generating resources insanely fast. I retook the trade posts and went for the trade monopoly victory in the end, just had cavalry regiments appearing out of the woods, hitting them, then running away again to slow them down whilst I got my monopoly in place.  :)
