Jubal

Parthia do own Romans well, not sure about Carthage.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

SubRosa

Quote from: "Andalus"It is obviously Parthia. The harsh men of the east know no bounds.

Except the bounds of their purple pajamas that is...

I had to go with Carthage out of the list given (no Scythia). I love their Round Shields in the early game, then Sacred Band and Elephants in the late game. Plus they have those cool white outfits and moon symbols.

i want brutii

Private Clark

I like the brutti as well because with their starting position they become the strongest roman faction thanks to greeces rescources.

yay britannia is winning
Tis but a scratch...

Quote from: "Andalus"Wrong, all wrong! All of you.

I vote Parthia too, you can't mess with Horse archers :o

Goromous

I've only played the Julii...

Just got the game though..

Silver Wolf

Voted for Carthage. I just love crushing the Roman factions one by one ... And there are many different unit types in their armies ... Great infantry, good horsemen and war elephants

Definitely the romans. The reasonably priced and quick to train legionary cohorts ensure victory in most situations, and when backed up with archers and mercenary cavalry make an excellent general purpose army. Once your empire gets to 30 provinces or so, the cash flow enables you to pump out cohorts. Brilliant.

Jarrus_Caesar

as for Horse archers? You should have seen me destroy Jubal's with cataphracts. The armour renders their arrows helpless and they cant run away from other horses.

Marcus

I do find that sending cavalry after horse archers doesn't always work, as the horse archers tend to be faster than the cavalry you send at them. I personally find foot archers to work well, as they have more bows per unit and thus are more lethal.

julii should be able to take down most people, they got close to free access to the entire north just because the gauls suck. If they get into war with the germans thats an entirely different story (that we will not go further in on)

Jubal

Amusingly, the Gauls suckishness is realistic; they had far worse military capability than Roman or German counterparts at the time of RTW.

Seriously they suck beyond anything i have ever seen, if they just had one phalanx type unit then they would be one of the best teams. Also they can never win full stack fights :ermm:
