Time to start another RTW swap that will never get finished!  8)

Who's in??

Jubal

Me! With a mod, or vanilla?

Thrace might be fun to do?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

comrade_general

We can do it with vaniller. Thrace sounds good, challenging. :)

Scarlet

I'm sure I shall be cursed and spat upon for this but what is a RTW "swap"?
like a bruise that would never go away, but she would cherish it for ever.

Pentagathus

Its where wait for someone to ask what it is so we can all curse and spit at them. Mwahahahahaha.
I imagine its where one person starts a campaign, saves it after a certain number of turns and then sends the save to another person.

Clockwork

I'm in... Unless it's happening in the next 2 weeks. Thrace is unplayable in vanilla though :P
Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

Making it playable in descr_strat doesn't affect compatibility at all. :)

True that, still has a hint of unvanillary about it :)

What difficulty would it be played at? Guessing VH or equivalent, RTW was kinda easy, until you get enough squalor to topple your empire :P

To a modder RTW is still vanilla even after making all factions playable. ;D

But yeah we'll do this one VH/VH.

Jubal

I will totally suck on VH/VH, but yeah, still calling for Thrace as faction.  :)

'ight, I'll get this one started soon. :)

Jubal

Once WHTW's out, a WHTW swap is also in order I think. Possibly Luccini?  :)

New Beginnings

King Sautes looked out across his dwindling kingdom and wept. Lysimachus had long been dead, and the country of Thrace had fallen into despair. But King Sautes fancied himself a king of old, and greatly desired to lead his people into a new age of Thracian glory. The people trusted and loved Sautes already, and because of this he quickly convinced them to pack their belongings and begin a journey that would lead them to new beginnings.

This task would not be easy.

Firstly, a fleet of ships was constructed at the port of Getae. These then carried the people of that land Southwards where Sautes had gathered the bulk of his people. 'Twas a sad day to see their homeland shrink into the horizon, and even more so because of the faithful volunteers who stayed behind to deter invaders for as long as possible.

The quest began calmly, however, as the fleet began sailing towards the island of Crete. It had been agreed between King Sautes' advisers that the island should be taken possession of, to serve as a safe haven lest the journey turn ill. The few villagers that were found in the city of Kydonia were defiant against the Thracians, but they were soon convinced, at the point of a sword, that it would serve them best to cooperate.

Once the island was under Thracian control, King Sautes set his sights on the ancient land of Egypt. Sautes had heard stories about this land since he was a child. Many Greeks had ruled over the land of Egypt since the days of the mighty Pharaohs, and King Sautes thought it was now his turn. But he wanted this land for the people of Thrace, for it was to become their new homeland.
The Thracians swept into the land, taking the Greegyptians completely by surprise. The city of Alexandria was quickly subdued in a glorious battle. The King then sent his son Pytros to hammer South and take Memphis.

With a strong foothold in their new lands, the Thracians now look freely to their new future...

Will

I'd love to get involved. Not entirely sure how to unlock Thrace but I'm sure it is reasonably easy. Only just installed the game again after some years of terrible darkness in the wilderness without it on my computer.
