Shall I also suggest more AOR units then? ;) I could continue with the Thyrrenian islands so we follow a geographic route from Italy (apart from India).

Sounds good my friend! Looking forward to it!

Yeah Mausolos, the entire map is at your disposal! Go for it!
Also, if I missed any Italian troops, feel free to add them

Of course, but anunnak has been working on that topic for uni for quite a long time, so I'm sure his list is the best ;)

SICILIAN AoR:

Peltophoroi(AOR Sicelia/Eastern Sicely)- Sicel peltasts, perhaps ligher (but obviously with a pelte shield) than Greek peltasts but more skilled in rough terrain

Elymi Ekdromoi (AOR Elymia/Western Sicily) - spearmen/Light  drawn from the native Elymians (see RTR VII fpr equipment or the whole model)

Sicel Spearmen (AOR Sicelia/Eastern Sicely) - see RTR VII for model/equipment(similar to Ekdromoi)

Greek Hoplites (Polis Hoplitai)- self-explaining

Peltasts (Peltastai)- same

Greek Archers (Toxotai)- same

Well, that was pretty straightforward haha.

Sardinian AoR:

Nuragic (goatfell) archers- see RTR VII, very skilled archers

Nuragic warriors- Light infantry with swords or axes (maybe RTR VII has them, too?)

Corsi Javelinmen- skilled javelinmen who lived in the extreme north-east of Sardinia

Corsican AoR:

Torrean (Southern Corsica) Warriors- Well, I can find a lot of stuff about Torreans and perhaps they are the same as the Corsi, if the latter are not Ligurians. Not sure how they fought, we could put either archers or light infantry or javelinmen

Corsi Javelinmen- see above, they lived mostly in Northern Corsica and might be related to Ligurians. So if we don't have enough unit spots, we could also put Ligurian Warriors here

Both peoples- Nuragics and Torreans- were probably (or in the case of the latter rather ''perhaps'') part of the sea peoples, if that's of any use.

Alavaria

I note with some amusement that it's nice the roman get samnite spearsmean, campanian cavalry etc, instead of "italian mercenary spearmen", or "italian allied cavalry"

-----

I will put a textfile of index for regions and stuff in a folder (on svn) for anyone referring to it afterwards. Though an aor map would be handy, I don't know how to make one

ahowl11

Yeah we need an aor map for sure

Mausolos of Caria

Somehow I thought rather of mercenaries than AOR troops, sorry. I corrected the names and posted the mercenaries in the right place  :)

I shall complete the islands first of all, since the remaining ones are very easy and not much work:

Balearic AoR:

Balearic Slingers- we all know them, damn good leadshot slingers

Cretan AoR:

Cretan Archers- same, look at Greek faction, too

Cretan Slingers- most Cretans who didn't fight as mercenaries actually favoured slingshots over bows, so they were pretty good slingers, too

Rhodian AoR:

Rhodian Slingers- again, they were well known of course

Carian Warriors- if you think I'm overdoing them, tell me and we will restrict them to Caria and Egypt  ;D

Naxos AoR:

Greek Hoplites

Ekdromoi

Lesbos AoR:

Greek Hoplites

Greek Slingers

Greek Peltasts

Mysian light infantry

Korkyra AoR:

Greek Slingers

Greek Peltasts

Akarnanian Hoplites

Cypriote AoR:

Greek Hoplites

Greek Peltasts

Naxos gets Ekdromoi since they would be the Nesiotic federal troops, Korkyra concentrated on trade and sea warfare so they would favour light units, Lesbos was quite populous so they get three unit types and if no one opposes this, Mysian infantry, because it's quite close and it's very likely some of them lived there. Same goes for Akarnanians on Korkyra, especially traders. Perhaps add Illyrian Infantry? It was nearby, but actually Epiros stretched more North in antiquity.

Updated OP. All Major AoR Regions are posted. Once Alavaria gets them in game we will go over more minor and cultural AoR.

Alavaria

Hmm, will get this done.

I see... 20 Areas, and we'll need 15 Region hidden resources, so that's 35. Limit is 64, we have plenty if you want anything fancy :)
