I'd like to bring some attention to the old republic, the star wars MMO.

It's had a fair bit of criticism aimed towards it and playing f2p does lock things out (only 3 races, for example, out of around 10)

But the story is enjoyable and IMO the combat is really quite fun. It's not the best game in the world, but its the only MMO I've ever really liked and if you feel like a new star wars story, I recommend playing this.

The story may not be as good as KOTOR, but that game just feels so dated. TOR has some really enjoyable modern combat - also somewhat more action based as there's no autoattack, hence no "click..... fireball............fireball...........statboost.........waterblast.........ohhesdeadyay

And it feels like star wars. The sound effects, when you use a lightsaber against another saber user you actually clash swords and dodge and other stuff along the lines of that...

yeah I kinda love this game

I've played Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

It was a fun game. :D

Yes, that was a good one, I have it sitting right next to me in the case right now. But one of the best Staw Wars game I have ever played would have to be:

I would love it so very much is they made a second one.

If anyone ever says that movie games always suck, I point them towards Star Wars. All of the movies have at least 1 good game

All of episode 1's games got at least OK reception, but the standouts are Racer and Battle for Naboo

Episode 2 has Jedi Starfighter, and The Clone Wars was also fairly decent

Episode 3 has the Episode 3 beat em up / fighting game

All of the prequels have the original Lego Star Wars

4 has Star Wars 1983, and Super Star Wars

5 has Atari 2600 Empire Strikes Back and Super Empire Strikes Back

6 has Super Return of the Jedi and.... it didnt have many good games

Of course there's Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy

Then you have all the original games - Dark Forces 1 and 2, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, KOTOR, Force Unleashed 1, Republic Commando, BATTLEFRONT, BATTLEFRONT,BATTLEFRONT IS GOD TIER

did I mention battlefront?

seriously, if you haven't played battlefront, play it, now, preferably battlefront 2. It's on steam, PS2, original xbox

Oh yeah, I remember playing battlefront.
Interesting, but not exactly what I call long term fun. Just like LOTR: Conquest.

Also, one more thing worth mentioning is M&B mod Star Wars Calradia. One of the best mods for the original M&B.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds was pretty good. I'd always play as the Old Republic with armies of Jedi.

Force commander and Rogue squadron were great fun, though they haven't aged well. They were huge games in my childhood though so they automatically become 50 times better

I know exactly what you mean, I recently re-installed the original Commandos games along with Starcraft and Warcraft 2 xD

SWTOR got interesting again, just come back to it to discover a pretty major overhaul. The one thing I really want in it though is the ability to use whatever weapon you feel like (sort of). At the moment, Jedi Guardians can only use a single one bladed lightsaber, watchmen can only use two of them and Jedi shadows can only use a double bladed saber, what I really want is for each of them to use any combination. I'd kind of like to use a double bladed saber on my heavy armour tank, and a single bladed saber on my shadow but it's impossible. Also the smuggler can only use pistols or a shotgun when there are assault rifles, cannons, sniper rifles, vibroswords etc in game. :/

EDIT: Plus I want actual gore in game, it feels weird without it.

Excited for battlefront 3. Battlefront 2 was one of my all time favourite games on ps2, i could play the mos eisley map heroes vs villains only all day long, always as boba fett as it made it a challenge having a gun versus light saber battle, become pro at the jet pack was key. Also the space battles were amaaaazing any game where you can crash an x wing into the landing bay of a star destroyer, jump out and kill waves of stormtroopers while destroying the ship from the inside gets a 10/10 from me.
