Are there any side streets nearby that can be reached before the guards?
I will growl "If it is me you find quarrel with, settle in honourably." I know it will be spoken in Saurus, but I want to have said something before we all end up incarcerated.

There are two streets to either side that run along the outer wall of the colony but the watchmen have closed ranks around you. All of you bar Frederich are hemmed in against the gate.

What sort of weapons are the guards holding, and what sort of weapon is the duke person holding?
Oh, and for the record, I am beginning to emit a low growl ominously.

Several watchmen are carrying crossbows, the majority of which are being held in a vaguely threatening manner towards the growling and savage Lizardman.

The other watchmen have a liberal mix of arming swords, maces and spears and held ready at their sides, a large heater shield held on their off-arms. The leader bears a longsword still in it's scabbard at his belt and appears to have at least two daggers on him, one thrust through his belt and the other sheathed in the top of his boot.

Oh heck, ok I will stop the growling and give each of the crossbowman a glare, before turning my gaze to the leader again.

Anyone actually want to help here?

Can I challenge him to a duel being a Bret noble, won't he have to accept?

Yes NightAngel you may challenge him if you wish but you must remember, this is a far-flung colony, a long way from home. The chivalrous side of many of the high-ranking nobles over here may not be present.

As a side note, I love how Tonto's "Voice of Inspiration" is indescisive.

I smile at his ignorance, unstring my crossbow and say "If I'm more trouble than it's worth than maybe you should just let me go, or better yet, let the rest go and take me instead. We are here the same reason you are. We were in the vicinity and heard a noise. If you really think we did this than look around. Is there a body? No. Interrogate us, torture us, kill use one by one. We have nothing to hide. You have no evidence that any one of us did it."

You look around but you are all well and truly surrounded. At your backs is the closed gate itself. The thing is a huge wooden affair and would take at least eight strong men to pull open. It swings inwards obviously. The wall itself is made of many vertical logs which have been secured together through a variety of methods. Between the distinct lack of handholds and the sheer height of the ten foot wall it is unscaleable. Any streets, alleyways, etcetera are securely blocked by the watchmen.

"See my friend you just made a mistake."

Out comes the rapier.

"You were very rude to me there, perhaps if you had ask very nicely and not made baseless accusations I would have came quietly. I demand satisfaction, I challenge you good sir to a duel for our freedom. I win we all go free, you win and everyone else will go quietly, what say you?"

I get out my poetry book, got down on one knee and begin quiety making a pryer to The Lady.

OOC: I know some characters might not be okay with that but this isn't me it's Tonto and Tonto is impulsive like that.

Lean against the gate and observe the unfolding scene, make no threatening movement.

OOC: you guys know we are all noobs and these guys are  going to kill us all if we fight.
