The lute player is welcome. The stream of visible musical notes reminds me of the music tree in the Clangers (original series, at least) and its bizarre alternation of generations.

I'd like to think a generation of biologists watched that episode as children, had the idea implanted in their subconscious, and were inspired to explore all the unexpected and fascinating things that real-life species can do.
